Raised Pavement Marker Detector

Raised pavement markers can be a headache for
striping crews. With the advent of the "plowable" reflective pavement
marker, striping crews must be constantly on the lookout for markers to
ensure that they are not painted over.
The Kelly-Creswell RPM Skip system is designed to electromagnetically detect metal pavement markers and momentarily interrupt appropriate active paint guns to avoid over painting.
An "antenna" mounted on the spray gun carriage of the striping truck and a control box located at the operator's station work together to detect markers and automatically interrupt painting. When the antenna passes over a metal pavement marker, the power to the electric solenoid valve for the associated active paint gun is interrupted and painting is suspended for a specified distance. The control box allows the operator to vary antenna sensitivity, interrupt delay and paint interrupt length. LED's provide constant system status.
The RPM Skip may be installed on new stripers and retrofitted to existing stripers. It is compatible with any skipline control system using electric solenoid control valves.
